Installations

Space of Transition

I feel lately as though I have fallen prey to constant stimulation. We all have. Television, social media, the news. Images, sounds, and statistics. We are inundated with information, wanted and unwanted. How can one choose what to allow to occupy one’s mind? My work this year comes from a need to break free from this cycle.

Coming from a photographic background and a family of architects, I have found comfort in the mediums of light and space. Through these, I aim to create an immersive installation which gives you a break from the monotony of the scroll – an opportunity to take a moment in this moment. As you enter the space let the light wash over you. Let it free you from what came before. Let go of what is yet to come. You’ll find that you need it more than you know.

We all do.

Studio Art Major Thesis Project

Study Daze

With this project I introduced a bit levity to a environment that is often so serious. Boston College’s O’Neill Library becomes something of a stress echo chamber in the weeks leading up to final exams. By projecting footage of students not only studying but also taking humorous “focus breaks,” I provided passersby with a moment of respite from their ensuing exams and projects.

Vertical Neighborhood

Vertical neighborhood adds playful depth to the 2Dimensional advertising Marquee outside the Boston Convention Center. Using myself as my only actor serves as a reminder that maybe the people living around us aren’t really so different from ourselves. My proposal for “Vertical Neighborhood” was one of a few selected from students across Massachusetts to be displayed the convention center’s 70 foot advertising board between the months of April and June.
